Atlanta Public Schools will open two hours later Tuesday because of the potential for icy roads, while Fulton County and Gwinnett County districts are moving classes online.

APS announced the delayed opening in a social media post on Monday afternoon.

Employees are to report to schools two hours later than their normal reporting time. Buses will run two hours later than usual.

The delay is in effect for both in-person and online classes. On Tuesday, Atlanta’s high school and middle school students are scheduled to return to buildings for the first time since March.

Here’s a list of other districts making changes Tuesday:

  • Cobb County School District: Schools are closed for winter break. Employees who work on a year-round schedule should not come into office buildings Tuesday and instead work remotely. “Staff whose jobs require them to be on-site will be contacted by their direct supervisor,” the district said in an online statement.
  • DeKalb County School District: Schools and administrative offices will be closed Tuesday. Online classes continue.
  • Fulton County School District: All Fulton County students will learn remotely Tuesday. Instructional staff will also work remotely. Classes are expected to start at their regularly scheduled time. Non-instructional school employees and administrative employees will be on a 2-hour delay and “should report as usual providing that they can safely get to work,” the district said in a statement.
  • Forsyth County Schools: All schools will operate on a two-hour delay.
  • Gwinnett County Public Schools: Schools are holding a digital learning day on Tuesday. Teachers will lead instruction from home and are not required to report to school. Meal service will not be provided.
  • Marietta City Schools: Schools also are on a week-long break. The central office is closed Tuesday.
