XpresSpa Group has converted one of its spa locations at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport into an XpresCheck COVID-19 testing location.

Before the pandemic, XpresSpa had four locations at the Atlanta airport. However, after a steep decline in traffic due to COVID-19, many concessions locations closed and some have not yet reopened. There is now just one XpresSpa location operating on Concourse A.

The company has converted its XpresSpa on Concourse E into an XpresCheck location with six testing rooms and the capacity to administer more than 400 tests a day to travelers and workers, including rapid PCR tests for COVID-19 which cost $250.

International travel can require a negative COVID-19 test result, though the type of test required varies depending on the destination. Travel between the U.S. and other countries will further open up Nov. 8 with the lifting of a travel ban on vaccinated foreign tourists entering the United States.

Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines is requiring unvaccinated workers to take weekly COVID-19 tests and wear masks, along with imposing a monthly $200 health insurance surcharge on them starting in November.

XpresSpa Group opened its first XpresCheck testing location at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport in June 2020. There are now more than a dozen XpresCheck testing locations in 11 airports, according to the company.
