New officers march into the auditorium before the ceremony. The Atlanta Police Department swore in officers with Class #232 at the Atlanta Police Training Academy on Thursday, October 17, 2013. Twenty-six officers participated in the ceremony that concludes 22 weeks of rigorous training at the Atlanta Police Academy. Training consisted of classroom courses in constitutional law, local and state laws, Atlanta Police Department policy and procedure, hands-on defensive tactics, arrest techniques and daily physical fitness.
