Atlanta police located a stolen BMW on Sunday and arrested its teenage driver, leading investigators to connect the car to several other cases of theft, authorities said.

The suspect, who was not identified because of his juvenile status, was arrested after officers with the Atlanta Police Department’s Auto Crimes Enforcement unit identified the stolen car, a white BMW 330i, in the West End Mall parking lot. APD officers moved to arrest the boy as he entered the car after coming from the mall, the APD said in a Facebook post.

According to the initial investigation, the suspect had the car’s keys, a credit card and a social security card that were stolen during an earlier armed robbery in midtown. The suspect also had two items previously reported stolen in Buckhead: a Smith and Wesson .380 handgun taken from a vehicle break-in and a driver’s license, police said.

The same BMW was involved in two additional car break-ins in northern Atlanta, the APD’s post said.

The teen was arrested and taken to the Metro Youth Detention Center without incident, APD said.
