A Georgia couple getting engaged on the beach in Tybee Island over the weekend lost the engagement ring in the sand seconds after the man popped the big question.
But, as luck would have it, the missing ring was quickly recovered after the pair turned to social media for help.
The auspicious occasion began Saturday when 23-year-old Anna Davis said yes to her future husband, Brian Quercia. The happy couple next shared a warm embrace, but their joy was short-lived.

When it was time to place the diamond on her finger, both were shocked to find the ring had somehow fallen out of the box and vanished.
“Unfortunately, my beautiful ring somehow fell out of the box when we hugged and the ring is now lost,” Davis wrote the next day on a Tybee Island Facebook group. “We are devastated but still hopeful ... If you happen to find it, please send me a private message. There will be a reward!”
The post was shared more than 2,800 times and prompted dozens of reactions from sympathetic islanders, The Charlotte Observer reported.

“I’m so sorry,” one person commented. “Congrats tho! Rings are replaceable.... good guys aren’t!”
“We looked all morning and until about 1:30,” another person wrote, adding, “no luck with the metal detector. We’ll look again!! So sad this happened to you guys. We were telling folks about it, especially those with kiddos digging in the sand.”

The couple’s plight soon caught the attention of an amateur sleuth — known only as “Mr. Foy” — who rushed to the beach to see if he could find it.
Incredibly, the man used a photograph of the engagement from Facebook to pinpoint the exact location where the couple had stood a day earlier.
After poking around for about 20 minutes, he managed to find the ring about 1 inch below the sand, reports said.
“Sweet Mr. Foy here found my ring within 20 minutes of searching Tybee today!” Davis wrote Sunday, posting a photograph of herself with the ring bearer.
She later said that she and her fiancé were excited and relieved.
“I immediately started crying,” she told news outlets Tuesday morning. “We had been praying hard for a ring miracle.”
The wedding is planned for Savannah.
