Seven more people have been arrested in a monthslong GBI investigation centered on heroin and methamphetamine sales across northeast Georgia, authorities said Friday.

The latest arrests bring the number of people charged in the 11-month operation to 55.

The GBI announced last week that it partnered with the FBI and local law enforcement agencies to arrest four dozen suspects and seize more than $700,000 worth of illegal drugs.

Over the course of the investigation, agents conducted 12 search warrants, leading to the seizure of 50 kilograms of meth and half a kilogram of heroin, GBI Director Vic Reynolds said.

In addition to the large quantities of heroin and meth, authorities confiscated 20 firearms, six vehicles and about $70,000 in cash. Agents also discovered a suspected meth processing lab used to convert liquid meth into solid crystals for sale, according to the GBI.

Among those arrested in the last week were Keith Wesley Breece, 37, of Gwinnett County; Danny Terrie Helton, 60, of Habersham County; Darrell Thomas Parker, 45, of Gilmer County; Terra Brooke Whitworth, 35, of Franklin County; Charles Derek Hallman, 35, of Hall County; and Heather Moss, 31, of White County.
