Delta Air Lines' annual Pink Plane flight took off Monday, October 9, 2023 in partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

Delta Air Lines' Pink Plane event is part of its partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Employees and supporters gather as part of a month-long effort in October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, to raise funds for BCRF.

Delta Air Lines' Pink Plane flight of breast cancer survivors took off Monday as part of its partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Before boarding, participants had their pictures taken with Delta CEO Ed Bastian and former NFL quarterback Tom Brady, who is now a strategic adviser to Delta.

Delta's "Pink Plane" has a pink ribbon and BCRF emblazoned on the side.

Delta Air Lines employees who are cancer survivors boarded the charter flight known as Breast Cancer One on Monday, October 9, 2023. A small number of seats on the flight were for customers who bid miles for seats on the flight and are breast cancer survivors or supporters.

Delta's Pink Plane flight celebration before boarding included a DJ, dance party, food and drinks for Delta employees who are breast cancer survivors and supporters.

The celebration at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport at Gate F10 on Monday, October 9, 2023, was part of a partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. As part of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Delta also on Saturday organized a Walk for a Cure in Accra, Ghana to support Breast Care International.

Delta pilot Antonia Theresa Wysong was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2011, and called it a "double whammy" because the diagnosis meant she had to deal with the disease and lost her pilot medical certificate. She went through 22 months of chemotherapy and radiation and was able to get her pilot license back. "I love showing new survivors... you can have a wonderful life after diagnosis," Wysong said.

As part of its partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Delta is donating 25% of proceeds from on-board food and beverage purchases in the month of October to BCRF. Delta is also serving some pink drinks and snacks on flights, including Minute Maid pink lemonade and a pink Kate's Real Food Bar.
