Cobb County Commissioner Monique Sheffield is hosting the annual District 4 litter cleanup in South Cobb on Saturday.

“Help us resolve this issue of litter,” Sheffield said in a video. “We’re going to get out, roll up our sleeves, and put litter in its place.”

Residents are invited to join Sheffield, Mableton city officials, and Keep Cobb Beautiful volunteers to pick up litter along the roadways. The free event will also feature a DJ, food and prizes at the Walmart parking lot at 1133 East-West Connector in Austell. The June 3 event starts at 8 a.m. and goes until 12 p.m.

Litter has been a prevalent problem in the Mableton area, and volunteers join forces nearly every Saturday morning to pick up trash along the roadways. To get involved, go to keepcobbbeautiful.org
