Half-off adoption fees for all dogs and cats in LifeLine shelters and foster homes in Fulton County are being offered this month before November’s opening of the Fulton County Animal Services Shelter.

Adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip and vaccines.

All four LifeLine shelters are faced with overcrowding, according to a LifeLine statement.

“Moving over 400 dogs would be very stressful for them and would fill the new shelter immediately,” the statement added.

Trial adoptions are available to those who want to help but need more time to decide.

Fulton County’s new Animal Services building at 1251 Fulton Industrial Blvd., Atlanta, is a state-of-the-art animal care facility.

With more than 55,000 square feet of space, the building can accommodate over 300 dogs and many other types of animals, including cats, rabbits, reptiles and horses.

The building is planned to be LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver, meaning it is rated to be healthy, efficient and cost less to operate.

Fulton County also recently renovated or built 31 LEED-certified libraries.
