Even though gyms across metro Atlanta are currently shuttered amid the coronavirus outbreak, staying active can still be an important way to stay physically healthy and stave off anxiety.

While there are plenty of apps and online resources for at-home workouts, having the accountability of a class can also be helpful. Which is why some gyms and fitness brands in metro Atlanta are hosting virtual “work ins.”

Avalon, the mixed-used development in Alpharetta, has launched a new Instagram Live series called #AvalonAtHome to give people the feel of going out from the comfort of their homes — including workout options.

“Each Monday, Avalon invites followers to experience live virtual fitness classes led by Atlanta’s top instructors, presented by lululemon,” according to a press release for the series. “Each class only requires a few household items or no equipment and will encourage followers to break a sweat in under 30 minutes without leaving the house.”

The upcoming class schedule can be found on Avalon's Instagram.
