The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is committed to continuing our normal features, where appropriate, during the coronavirus outbreak. For full coverage of the outbreak in Atlanta, please check our Coronavirus News Section. We have decided to continue Best of Dunwoody voting for the time being, despite social distancing. We encourage our readers to support local businesses after the authorities loosen the social distancing rules — along with supporting those businesses that offer delivery or pickup during the outbreak.

When it’s safe to do so, many will begin venturing out to their favorite parks and eateries in metro Atlanta, and Dunwoody is no exception. But why should it just be humans who have all the fun? Shouldn’t Fido be able to come along, too?

Many people seem to think so, and that was the subject of this month’s Best of Dunwoody poll, which asked: What’s the best place to take your dog in Dunwoody?

Dozens of residents voted and only one place came out on top.

The results begin with seventh-place finisher Dunwoody Park, which garnered 4% of the votes.

A three-way tie emerged for fourth place among Dunwoody Nature Center, Alon’s Bakery and Market and Camp Run-a-Mutt. The park, bakery and dog day care center got 6% of the votes.

Third place saw a significant increase in votes for The Pet Resorts, which got 17% of votes. This dog boarding spot in Dunwoody Park also has a location in Cumming.

Another big lead came for second place when Brook Run Park got 30% of votes. The popularity of this spot is matched by a Yelp review that said, in part, "I've been to a few of Atlanta's off-leash dog parks, and so far this is the best."

Still, one spot was voted as the best place to take your four-legged pal and it was Moondog Growlers in Dunwoody Village. The bar, which has “dog” right in the name, got 31% of votes.
