The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is committed to continuing our normal features, where appropriate, during the coronavirus outbreak. For full coverage of the outbreak in Atlanta, please check our Coronavirus News Section. We have decided to continue Best of Atlanta voting for the time being, despite social distancing. When we can once again make a beeline for brunch, we no doubt will head for our favorite dish. Atlanta’s food scene offers options for every taste and appetite — from biscuits to buffets, sweet to savory.

Last week, we asked what the best brunch dish in metro Atlanta is. Here are the results:

In fifth place was the peach cobbler french toast at Atlanta Breakfast Club.

Atlanta Breakfast Club executive chef Anthony Sanders had Georgia on his mind when he created his peach cobbler French toast, Wendell Brock wrote for the AJC last year. "To put a local twist on the classic, fried-bread confection, he dollops it with a brown-butter peach compote fortified with a kiss or two of John Pemberton's secret recipe."

In fourth place was the smoked salmon eggs benedict at Canoe. This dish is one of the highlights of the restaurant's Sunday brunch menu. Guests also can dine on the house-smoked salmon with a crispy potato pancake and goat cheese.

Third place goes to the pimento cheese omelet at Buttermilk Kitchen.

Why have a cheese omelet when you can have a pimento cheese omelet? Did we mention it also has smoked bacon and housemade red pepper jelly?

In second place for 2020 is the dish that finished first last year: Home Grown's comfy chicken biscuit.

This fluffy buttermilk biscuit is topped with fried chicken and sausage gravy.

Taking the title of best brunch dish for 2020 is the Belly benedict at Sun in My Belly.

Eggs benedict served on potatoes and garlicy greens is, as one TripAdvisor reviewer wrote, "Awesome!"
