People are passionate about their parks and this month’s Best of Roswell poll results prove it.

More than 200 people cast a vote to choose among Big Creek Park, Leita Thompson Memorial Park, Machine Shop, Old Mill Park, Riverside Park, Roswell Area Park, Waller Park Recreation Center and Willeo Park as the best park in the North Fulton city.

Third place went to Big Creek Park. The city’s woodland park, which offers hiking, mountain biking and multi-use trails garnered 17% of votes. Second place went to Riverside Park, which got 21% of votes. True to its name, the recreational spot is adjacent to the Chattahoochee River and has play areas, a spray park and a boat launch.

So, which park did Roswell residents say is the best the city has to offer?

About 250 cyclists ride through Roswell Area Park as they participate in The Bike! Roswell Mayor's Ride to kick off a full day of cycling races and related events. The Mayor's Ride is a family event that allows cyclists to take a six, 20, 40 or metric century (62-mile) ride. Roswell Mayor Jere Wood is an avid cyclist and cycling advocate.

Roswell Area Park took 34% of votes to win the poll. The public park offers sports fields, playgrounds, a pool and a lake.
