Q: We have black paper, facial profile cut-out silhouettes of our children when they were toddlers. We'd like to do the same for our grandchildren. In the past, Rich's department store occasionally would offer this service, but we've been unable to find an artist who offers the process. Can you help? — Richard Baumgarten, Stone Mountain

A: Georgia native and local silhouette artist, Edward Casey, recently was commissioned to make silhouettes of President Obama and his family. In fact, Casey has made these portraits for clients all over the world, and was the top-selling portrait artist for two years running at Disney World. He uses his artistic talent for weddings, various special events and at schools. Casey cuts his portraits freehand in a matter of seconds. Along with paper silhouettes, Casey offers them mounted on pendants and assorted merchandise. He also does full body pieces. The first silhouette costs $25, and additional copies are priced at $10. You can send a profile photo to Casey, and your silhouette will be shipped out the next business day. To see examples of his work, go to www.edwardsart.net; you can contact him at 770-748-5990.

Q: My father is looking for an old-time antiseptic that came in powder form. He seems to think that it was made by a company called Columbia, but I haven't been able to find this. I asked someone at my pharmacy but she didn't know what it was. Can you help us with this request? — S. Martino

A: Made in the USA since 1877, Columbia Antiseptic Powder is hypoallergenic and fragrance free. The powder is formulated to help soothe a variety of skin issues, including sunburn, chafing, diaper rash, insect bites and brushes with poison ivy, oak and sumac. You’ll find 6-ounce tins for $14.99 at Miller’s Rexall Drugs, 87 Broad St., Atlanta, 404-523-8481.

Q: I like to make a white Cosmopolitan. I am having difficulty finding white cranberry juice. I have been able to find white cranberry mixed with strawberry or peach, but I would like just the white cranberry. Thanks. — Patricia Nelson, Snellville

A: For whatever reason, Ocean Spray white cranberry juice isn’t as popular as other flavors, so it doesn’t show up on every grocers’ shelf. By the way, white cranberries are the same as the red, except that they’re picked earlier and are slightly less tart. While I located your juice, you’ll have to drive a bit to get your Cosmo ingredient. I found 64-ounce bottles of Ocean Spray white cranberry juice for $4.29 at Publix, 5180 McGinnis Ferry Road, Alpharetta, 770-360-1025.
