Calling all soccer fans to Summerhill. The third annual Atlanta United block party will take place on March 6 along Georgia Avenue.

The street will be shut down for fans attending the event, which will feature entertainment, giveaways, raffles and more. It’s all in anticipation of the United’s first home game of the season.

Hosted by Atlanta Sport and Social Club the event is $20 to attend. Tickets include a complimentary beer, souvenir cup and drink specials, according to the event website.

The stretch of Georgia Avenue in Summerhill where the block party will take place has been home to a lot of changes in recent years.

As part of a massive redevelopment project spearheaded by local development firm Carter and Georgia State University, eateries and businesses have started to open along the neighborhood's main drag, including Wood's Chapel BBQ,  Junior's Pizza and Halfway Crooks Brewery.

“We're proud to bring the Atlanta United Block Party to the Summerhill neighborhood - a neighborhood that's hosted some of the most iconic moments in Atlanta sports history,” an event posting for the block party reads.

As for those iconic sports moments, think: Hank Aaron’s record-setting home run, Braves World Series win and the summer Olympics. And as the season gets going, Atlanta United Fans are hoping a bit of that magic will happen for their team this year as well.
