Frankly my dears, y’all ain’t from around here, are you?

Southerners chuckle and sometimes cringe at how our voices are portrayed by Hollywood (bless its heart). Maybe Georgia’s growing influence in the filming industry will result in more accuracy, but for now, we asked you who pulled off the best and worst-sounding Southern accents on screen.

Best: Vivien Leigh, "Gone With the Wind"; Matthew McConaughey, "A Time to Kill"; Sally Field, "Norma Rae"; Robert Duvall, "The Apostle."

Worst: Keanu Reeves, "The Devil's Advocate"; Nicolas Cage, "Con Air"; Colin Firth, "Main Street"; Halle Berry, "BAPS"; Julia Roberts, "Steel Magnolias"; Charlize Theron, "The Legend of Bagger Vance"; John Travolta, "Urban Cowboy"; Jackie Gleason, "Smokey and the Bandit."

Both: Dan Aykroyd, "Driving Miss Daisy," and Leslie Howard, "Gone With the Wind," got best and worst nods.

Nominators: Chris Tisch, Brian Darby, Debbie Collins, Darren Evans, Kim Underwood Lyons, Rubio Slim, Dennis Murray, Blake Bowman, Jennifer Parker, Julie Pulliam, and Cole Trickle.
