About 9:30 a.m. Eastern time, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s official Instagram account made it official: Meghan had given birth to a boy.

The baby, whose mother is an American, is seventh in line to the British throne.

The world had been waiting for the royal baby, which Prince Harry confirmed was overdue, and social media blew up with well-wishes and excitement for the family.

Her former TV show, “Suits,” and co-star also sent congratulations.
