Q: Where can we find the large jars of Boscoli Family Italian olive salad? I don’t want the smaller jars. We love it on sandwiches and in macaroni salad, and our family goes through a small jar quickly. Thanks. K. Spence, email
A: Made by the Boscoli family, this New Orleans staple often is found in muffuletta sandwiches. The mix includes green and black olives, chopped pickled vegetables and herbs and spices. The 32-ounce jars, $8.87, are available at Wal-Mart, 4725 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Atlanta, 770-395-0199.
Q: I hope you can help me find a breakfast meat called scrapple. I’m originally from New Jersey, and it’s a staple up North, but I’m having a hard time finding it here. I particularly would like the Habbersett brand. Thanking you in advance. Sharon Johns, email
A: A mush-like combination of pork scraps, cornmeal and spices, scrapple isn’t quite as popular in the South as it is up North, but it is available, if you know where to look. You’ll find Jenkins Country scrapple, $2.58 for a 16-ounce block, at Ingles Markets, 4815 Rockbridge Road, Atlanta, 404-299-0698. As for Habbersett scrapple, I’m sorry to say that it’s not sold in Georgia.
Q: Attached is a photo of my only remaining Cucina product, Cucina Fruits & Passion hand soap with olive oil, coriander and olive tree scent. I love the smell and am hoping you can tell me where to go to get the lotions and more hand soap. Thanks. Peg Rowland, Braselton
A: Peg, I asked the folks at Cucina, which offers soaps specifically for use in the kitchen, and was told that the products were no longer sold in U.S. stores, but that they were available on the company’s website. However, I spotted them on several sites, including Amazon. I found the lotion you wanted, and the best price for a 5-ounce bottle is $12 at www.fruits-passion.com, compared to $16 on other websites. On the same site, I found the hand soap in several sizes, including a 33.8-ounce refill for $28.50, which is a far better bargain than the 16.9-ounce for $22.50.
Q: Where can I find the cheese and garlic seasoning that you sprinkle on pizza dough? I’m not sure of the brand but it comes in a small jar. I’d like to find it somewhere in the Atlanta area, not online. Thanks. Bill Stewart, email
A: Bill, you can grab a four-ounce jar of Cheese and Garlic Pizza Dough Flavoring for $13 at Sur La Table, Phipps Plaza, 404-973-3371. The flavoring, which includes Cheddar cheese powder, buttermilk, garlic and onion powders, is made for Sur La Table by King Arthur Flour.
