“At this time, we feel confident that with our unique 80,000 square feet open-air rooftop and outdoor seating, we can more than adhere to the recommended six-feet social distancing guidelines and can continue to keep our employees and guests safe while we resume business,” according to a press release from The Roof.

According to its website, the new safety measures include:

  • Posted CDC guidelines, including general guidelines in the bathrooms for guests and detailed procedures for kitchen staff members.
  • Being cashless, issuing electronic receipts and disposing menus after each use.
  • Limiting elevator capacity to nine people to allow for distancing.
  • Having hand sanitizer available throughout for guests and staff members.
  • All spaces will be marked for social distancing.
  • Restaurant capacity will be limited and reconfigured to meet proper distancing.
  • Things like tables, stools and game equipment will be sanitized after every use.

Additionally, new employee protocols will include all team members being trained on general safety and sanitation.

Employees who don’t feel well should stay home and notify a manager, according to The Roof’s website. Gloves and masks will be provided to employees by a manager, who will also “perform a non-invasive temperature check.”

"The operations team has been preparing since we closed on March 15th. We have very thoughtfully considered every aspect of our business and how to reopen in the safest and best way possible," a post on rooftop's website.
