In 2014, construction began on the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

In 2016, Atlanta won its bid to host Super Bowl 53.

And in 2018, the city teamed up with arts organization WonderRoot to ensure Atlanta puts its best foot forward next year.

Just as some may prepare for a big occasion with a new outfit, Atlanta will be decked out with 30 new murals by the time fans descend upon the city for the big game.

The AJC recently caught up with the Executive Director of WonderRoot and one of the artists involved in its new initiative, “Off the Wall”. Listen as they talk about capturing Atlanta’s civil and human rights legacy through the upcoming murals.
