Learn how to garden with UGA’s virtual container gardening series

A webinar aims to instruct people on how to make the most of small-scale planting

As people try to remain at home amid the coronavirus pandemic, gardening has proved to be popular in metro Atlanta.

However, not everyone has the room or backyard to have a sprawling plot. If you’re one of those people and you have an interest in taking on this popular hobby, an upcoming webinar can help.

UGA Extension Fulton County is partnering with the Fulton County Government, Fulton County Library System and UGA Extension - Columbus for a series of webinars focused on gardening various plants and vegetables.

"Want to grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers but don't have much space in the ground? Learn about how to make the most of the space you do have and grow the things you've always wanted. It's easier than you think!" reads the Facebook event description.

Three sessions are planned for Tuesdays beginning this week; herbs are May 12, vegetables are May 19 and ornamentals, which are plants like flowers meant for aesthetics rather than cooking, are May 26. All of the hour-long sessions will be streamed on Zoom at 12:30 p.m. There is no cost to participate.

A Zoom link to each webinar will be made available a day preceding the event. Virtual attendance is limited to 300 live participants and the sessions will be recorded.
