Josh McDowell to speak on impact of pornography on the church

Josh McDowell will speak on the negative impact of pornography on the church during a program at Eastside Baptist Church in Marietta.

The free program, “90 Minutes with Josh McDowell,” will be held from 10:30 a.m. until noon Tuesday at the church, 2450 Lower Roswell Rd.

McDowell is an author and founder of theDallas-based Josh McDowell Ministry.

The ministry recently commissioned a report by the Barna Group of American teens and their views and exposure to pornography. Among it’s finding, the report showed teens and young adults have a more cavalier attitude toward porn than adults 25 and older.

Additionally, 56 percent of teens and young adults thought that no recycling was worse than viewing porn.

Pornography is a growing issue the faith community, according to the ministry’s website.Next month, McDowell is leading a summit in Greensboro, N.C. of Christian leaders, school administrators and parents groups on addressing pornography in the church.
