Southern hospitality expert and cookbook author Lara Lyn Carter will host two classes next month at Cook's Warehouse in Decatur and Marietta.

Guests will learn to make dishes such as southern panzanella and shrimp with pecan pesto paired with the perfect wines, as well as pork sliders with a port wine mustard sauce and quail knots with pepper jelly dipping sauce.

Carter will hold her first class - an Italian wine dinner - at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 in Decatur. The next day she will begin her tailgating class at 10:30 a.m. in Marietta.

Tickets for the Italian wine dinner class are $70 and $45 for the Tailgate class. To purchase, log onto classes.cookswarehouse.com.

Born and raised in Georgia, Carter is no stranger to Southern hospitality. Her strong Southern roots, and affinity for cooking, have inspired her to create and host two television shows, Savor the Good Life and Thyme for Sharing with Lara Lyn Carter.

Carter also authored Southern Thymes Shared, a cookbook and entertaining guide with recipes and wine pairings and she recently launched her very own sauce line, Wicker & Whisk.
