When Mauro and Kristen Martinez bought a new home in Woodstock, she desired a change from her former home’s palette of black and brown to lighter tones and add sparkle with quartz countertops and furniture embellishments.
“Our previous house was a lot darker. We had darker furniture. We had darker walls,” Kristen Martinez said. “So I wanted this one to be a lot lighter, to feel a lot more open.”
One space that embraces the brightness of a new palette and her modern farmhouse style is the kitchen.

“I love everything about it, from our Cambria quartz countertops, to our Shaker-style cabinets, (the) personal touch of the designed backsplash and just the fact that we entertain and I can see everything from there when watching our toddlers,” she said.

Favorite outdoor features: The screened porch, especially in warmer months, Kristen said. "We have our breakfast on the patio and drink wine on the rainy nights," she said. "It's great for hosting friends and family and relaxing after a long day."
