It certainly was a Merry Christmas for one Michigan man. His children bought him a lottery scratch card for Christmas and with it he won $300,000, according to a news release from the Michigan Lottery.

The man, who chose to remain anonymous, was in disbelief when he picked up his prize Monday. He planned to use the money for his family, including a special trip to say thank you to his children over spring break, according to the Lottery.

The Lottery said $300,000 is the top prize for its Holiday Ice instant game. The Holiday Ice scratch card cost $5 and was bought at a gas station in Jackson.

Players have won between $5 and $300,000 from the games, according to the Lottery.
