The hair is key. The authentic route would be to grow your hair out. Bentley's hair is short, so we used a wig from Golden Beauty in Decatur. It cost about $30. You'll need a straight wig. For the perfectionist, a lot of salons will cut wigs. We used a Google image search to get a good look at actor Javier Bardem's hair.

Now, for the torpedo keg. A perfect example of modifying the costume to meet Halloween partying needs. If you didn't see the movie, Bardem's character used a captive bolt pistol, an instrument normally used to stun cattle prior to butchering. We got this torpedo keg (which was empty) at Green's Discount Beverages on Ponce.

The rest of the costume is pretty easy. Bentley had a jean jacket and jeans. Don't use designer stuff. The movie was set in 1980. You'll be able to find the clothes at a thrift store for less than $20. Boots are helpful.

A good Texas-style belt buckle is a key accessory. The keg is going to be the most costly item. You may be able to make a deal to borrow an empty keg, but you'll have to put down a hefty deposit.

This memorable hit man, Anton Chigurh from "No Country for Old Men," could be a sleeper costume on Halloween. The award-winning movie was released last November, so it won't be on the top of most minds, but it will be the first opportunity to be Chigurh for Halloween. Michael Bentley, a married father of three from Sharpsburg, modeled the costume, which is actually fairly simple to build.
