True Food Kitchen: Based on the principles of Dr. Andrew Weil's anti-inflammatory diet, the menu at this healthy Buckhead eatery offers plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes, and can accommodate for every major food allergy (also known as the big eight: milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy and wheat). Even better? Every manager both in and out of the kitchen, goes through the ServSafe Allergen certification to be educated specifically on what food allergies are and how to deal with them safely. A kids menu offers healthy options of classic favorites like almond butter, strawberry and banana sandwiches, and turkey sloppy joes. Your Pie: Craving pizza? Customize yours and make it gluten-free, dairy-free or both at this brick-oven pizza restaurant that originated in Athens, Georgia. If you alert a team member to your allergy, they'll even change gloves, utensils and cook your pie on a separate aluminum pan to avoid cross-contamination. Locations include Perimeter, Roswell and Snellville. Yourpie.com
Café Sunflower: This vegan/vegetarian restaurant with locations in Sandy Springs
and Buckhead offers a plethora of dairy-free and gluten-free menu options (two popular GF dishes are basil rolls and supreme nachos). Plus, all the servers can recommend dishes based on your specific allergy, and will alert the kitchen staff to keep everyone safe. Cafesunflower.com

Red Robin: This burger joint might be a national chain, but it's also one of the leaders in fostering an allergy-safe eating experience. Recognized by AllergyEats as one of the "most allergy-friendly restaurant chains" for the past three years, Red Robin offers an Interactive allergen menu online that allows customers to select which allergens they need to avoid and then get a safe menu tailored specifically for them. Also, if a Red Robin guest tells the server his food allergy, the server will ring in the order with an allergy alert so the kitchen recognizes the need to take special precautions (and use separate color-coded tools) when preparing the meal. Dulce Vegan Bakery & Café: Closed for renovations in April, this Kirkwood coffee shop is set to reopen this month with a bigger and better menu, including sandwiches, soups and salads. Everything served up at the cafe is always dairy-, egg- and peanut-free, and there's a rotating selection of gluten-free, soy-free and nut-free sweets on hand. Got a different allergy? They've got you covered — just call them, and they can whip up something special and safe just for you. Dulcevegan.com, 1994 Hosea Williams Drive NE, Atlanta 30317, 404-627-7417
