Black Friday, Cyber Monday 2019 deals with nurses in mind

Ready to shop for a holiday gift for the nurse in your life? Black Friday falls on Nov. 29 this year, with Cyber Monday on Dec. 2.

This makes little time for shopping between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so it helps to have a plan in hand. Some stores have already started offering some early Black Friday deals, so depending on what's on your list, you may be able to get started.

Weighted blanket – Nurses need their sleep to stay alert and reduce stress, so make it easier with a weighted blanket. Some people find that the added pressure provided by the blanket makes it easier to sleep. Target has a 12-pound blanket on sale for $30 — down from $49 — on Black Friday.

Smartphone - Nurses use their smartphones for work-related apps, such as ones that list medications. Score a new one on Amazon's Black Friday sale, which has some models on sale already.

Foot massager - For a nurse's aching feet, treat him or her to a HoMedics Shiatsu Foot Massager with heat from Kohl's on Black Friday. You'll pay $76.49 with an in-ad coupon instead of the regular price of $199.99, plus you'll score $15 in Kohl's Cash.

Slow cooker – Give the nurse in your life an easy way to come home to a hot meal that's ready to eat. Macy's has a 1.5-quart Bella slow cooker on sale for $10 in the store on Thanksgiving – down from $29.99. There's even a $10 rebate, so you'll end up paying nothing by the time you get your rebate back.

Keurig brewing system – While you're at Macy's, help your favorite nurse kickstart his or her workday with an easily prepared cup of coffee. Buy the Keurig K-Select K-80 Brewing System for $79.99 – down from its normal price of $162.99. You can also add some K-Cup pods if you'd like.

Candles or soaps – Bath and Body Works has many popular scented candles for the season discounted for Black Friday, including frosted coconut snowball and winter candy apple. These three-wick varieties will help your nurse's home smell delicious. And since he or she needs to wash their hands so much, you can find pump soaps in matching scents to make a nice gift.
