It may not be free doughnut Friday, but Krispy Kreme is offering a whole box of their light, airy pastries to new graduates next week.
The Winston-Salem, N.C.-headquartered company announced is giving away a dozen assorted doughnuts to high school and college graduates for one day only on Tuesday, May 19. The move is being made for 2020 graduates who are disappointed that their ceremonies have been canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“We feel for all of the high school and college seniors. We wish they had that moment of walking across the stage and getting their diploma,” said Dave Skena, Chief Marketing Officer for Krispy Kreme in a press release. “We can’t replace that … but we thought we could help them safely have a little fun and enjoy a special ‘Graduate Dozen’ on us. Moms, dads, friends and family can buy this ‘Graduate Dozen’ all week long to honor their favorite graduates, but only seniors can get one for free.”
The “Graduate Dozen,” which spells out “2020” in three rows, can also be purchased from Krispy Kreme May 18-24 in the drive-thru, by ordering online or through the store’s app for delivery or door-side pickup.

Included in the “Graduate Dozen” are chocolate iced doughnuts with sprinkles and strawberry iced doughnuts with sprinkles as well as a variety of fan favorites — like cake batter-filled doughnuts and yellow iced original glazed pastries — decorated to honor recent graduates.
The offer, which is only available at participating Krispy Kreme locations while supplies last, can only be claimed if a 2020 high school or college senior is physically present. Some locations may require an ID, and class of 2020 members can show up wearing graduate items like a cap and gown with a 2020 tassel or a 2020 class sweatshirt. The offer cannot be redeemed online.
