Fried chicken — and who makes the best — is a topic that will start many a fight in the South.

In Georgia, there are as many opinions on the best fried chicken as there are options. Paste recently under the jealousy-inducing task of seeking out the best option in each state.

Who did they crown as the ultimate platter of fried chicken in Georgia? Atlanta's own Paschal's.

Here's what they had to say about it: "What do Aretha Franklin, Dizzy Gillespie and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. all have in common? The answer is Paschal's fried chicken. Their recipe has been around since the 1940s and is unique in part because of the number of celebrities who have agreed that it is finger-licking good."

Of course, there are a few things that "The Best Fried Chicken Ever" must have: a thin, crispy skin; the meat needs to be juicy and tender; and, most importantly, it has to taste just as amazing when it is pulled out of the fridge at 2 a.m. for a sneaky snack.
