‘Tis the season for giving back. For one Atlanta Falcons player that meant treating kids from around his hometown to a holiday shopping spree.

According to a tweet from the team, “hometown hero” Allen Bailey took more than 200 south Georgia kids shopping for holiday toys and gifts.

The photos show Bailey, decked out in a Falcons Santa hat and a Christmas lights necklace, shopping and buying gifts with kids at a Walmart.

Bailey, who is from Sapelo Island, played high school football at McIntosh County Academy before his collegiate career at Miami.

The Falcons signed him to a two-year, $10.5 million contract last summer.

He missed last Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers game for personal reasons. He is expected to start Sunday's home finale against Jacksonville because of Takkarist McKinley's shoulder injury.

On social media, some praised the defensive end for doing good in the community, saying it was a “hero status” move.
