October marks a time for tasting pumpkin spice, preparing for Halloween and−last but not least − attending highly anticipated homecoming festivities.

Atlanta colleges and universities are known for bringing major school spirit when it involves homecoming. From watching the bands break it down during halftime to enjoying concerts, college students, alumni and even locals will be drawn to these colleges for a fun-filled, action-packed week of events.

Here's your guide to the top college homecoming events at Clark Atlanta University, Georgia State University, Morehouse College and Spelman College.

Historically black colleges and universities are known for their school spirit, and Clark Atlanta University is no different. Expect the homecoming festivities from Oct. 16-22 to go down in record books. The Alumni Weekend package is $70 and the full week costs $150.   • The homecoming block party will be in full swing on the Atlanta Campus Oct. 17.
  • A variety show filled with talented students is Oct. 18 on the Atlanta campus.
  • The 15th annual golf cart parade on Oct. 19 will be a high point during Georgia State's homecoming.
  • The homecoming football game against Troy will be at the Georgia State stadium on Oct. 21. Come hungry because Spotlight and the Alumni Association will be giving out free food during their tailgates.

Expect Morehouse to celebrate homecoming in a major way from Oct. 15-22. With live entertainment and concerts, there are many ways for attendees to show school spirit.

  • A rhythym and blues concert is slated for Oct. 17 and a hip-hop concert is on Oct. 18.

  • See Morehouse play Benedict College during the homecoming game on Oct. 21.
