In Brookhaven, historically known as the land of sprawling single-family homes, a development is bringing a new variety of living options to the area.

The Halstead development along North Druid Hills Road will feature some traditional standalone houses, but also have lofts and townhomes available.

The builder, Ashton Woods, is playing up the location of the development, which will have 59 residences.

"Just beyond the bustling streets of downtown Buckhead, you'll find the gated enclave of Halstead. In this premier location, you'll be within reach of the best of Atlanta," the company states in a post on its website.

The development features nine floor plan options, ranging in size from 970 square feet to 3,782 square feet.

The builder also notes Halstead’s proximity to MARTA and green spaces.

The townhouses begin at $551,000, while the single-family homes are asking $833,500. The asking price for the 970-square-foot lofts is not yet listed.

The gated community is in the Chamblee Middle and Chamblee Charter High school district.

Curbed Atlanta reports the first residents are expected to move in to the development in May.
