Usher is in heaven on earth.
That’s what the Atlanta-based crooner shared as his location when he posted the first images of his daughter, Sovereign Bo Raymond, whom he welcomed with girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea, on Instagram Wednesday.
“Happy 11:11 Sovereign ... today was the day I thought you would arrive. You had a different plan,” Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, said in a caption of him gently kissing his baby’s head.
Adding the hashtags #BabyKnowsBest and #Godsplan, he said “I love what we have, and what made,” before tagging Goicoechea and writing “Te amo mucho,” which is Spanish for “I love you very much.”
Not to be outdone, Goicoechea, who is vice president of A&R at Epic Records, also posted a photo of their baby girl, who was born on September 24.
“Sovë helping me with album credits,” she captioned the image of Sovereign wearing a robe and slippers with a towel on her head while seated in a leopard-print chair with a MacBook in her lap.
Usher expounded further on the Zodiac sign that he included in his Instagram photo caption during a virtual appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Wednesday.
“She came out early,” he said. “She was scheduled to be a Scorpio but decided she had a different plan. Libras, you know, they kinda have their minds made up what they wanna do.
“It’s funny because the umbilical cord was wrapped around her wrists. So she’s pulling the thing, like, ‘Pull me outta here, it’s time to go!’” he added.
Sovereign joins Usher’s two other children, sons Usher Raymond V, 12, and Naviyd Ely Raymond, 11. The “Bad Habits” singer said they’re “coping well” and are “excited about being big brothers.”
"They’re a little bit too protective, even with me sometimes,” he added.
This marks the first time Usher has opened up about his new arrival with Goicoechea, with whom he sparked rumors of a budding romance in October 2019. Before then, he and his girlfriend remained mum about her pregnancy, despite Us Weekly breaking the news in August.
