Here we go again. It’s another month with the actors strike passing the 100-day mark and almost no scripted programming happening in Georgia.
Of the 17 productions listed on the Georgia film office site, 15 are unscripted fare such as the next season of Fox’s “Lego Masters,” a new WE-TV season of “Brat Loves Judy” and season 2 of the talk show “Portia,” which Fox 5 is airing locally and nationally. The two scripted productions are approved films not connected with any of the producers under the contract they are negotiating. “Wallbanger” is for Passionflix, an independent Atlanta-based streaming service owned by Elon Musk’s sister Tosca Musk with films based on romance novels.
SAG-AFTRA, which represents the actors, and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers, which represents producers such as Netflix, NBCUniversal, Disney and Warner Bros. Discovery, resumed talks on Tuesday in hopes of ending the strike in time for production to resume as early as next month.
The film office provides an ever-changing list of active productions, but it is not necessarily complete or up to date because production companies are not obligated to inform the office. If a company requests the production stay off the list or use a pseudonym, the film office will oblige. I also glean titles from productionlist.com and other sources. (Georgia does provide an alphabetical directory of every production it has ever kept track of here.)
