More luxury dwellings are coming to metro Atlanta thanks to a partnership between Atlanta and Denver-based companies.
Denver-headquartered Simpson Housing, Atlanta mixed-use real estate development group Novare Group and Cobb County real estate agency Batson-Cook Development Co. have teamed on a 325-unit luxury apartment and condominium complex in Cobb, a press release obtained by CityBiz said.
According to What Now Atlanta, general contractor Flournoy Construction Group, based in Columbus, is also involved in the unnamed community. It is slated for completion in the third quarter of 2023.
“Our 25-year commitment to the Atlanta area and our team’s dynamic working relationship with Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development Company over six major projects, as well as the well-located and well-conceived vision for this community were all factors that led us to commit to this joint venture,” Mark Peppercorn, Senior Vice President, Investments of Simpson Housing, said in a statement. “We are pleased to see it move forward.”
The community, which will be next to the Chattahoochee River and near the Galleria, will have five stories. The property will be on 4.3 acres on Cumberland Boulevard and include 23 townhomes for rent and 302 apartments. It will offer access to the Chattahoochee National Recreation Area.
“Cumberland/Galleria/Battery has evolved from its origins as a suburban retail and Class A office market into a dynamic residential market with excellent amenities and vehicular access to all of metro Atlanta,” Jim Borders, President and CEO of Novare Group, said. “We are excited to partner with our longtime co-sponsor BCDC and to develop our seventh major project with Simpson Housing and their best-in-class multifamily management platform.”
The Cumberland/Galleria/Battery market is a blend of high-rise office buildings, high-end retail and luxury residential communities. Companies include The Home Depot, Synovus Bank and Comcast regional headquarters. Entertainment and restaurants are at The Battery and Truist Park, where the Atlanta Braves play home games.
