HGTV star Erin Napier, host of “Home Town,” has taken to social media to show off some of her own home to the thousands of novice designers following her Instagram. According to Homes and Gardens, it’s the perfect way to get into Napier’s “grand millennial style.”

Combining new design elements with tradition, Napier’s style is one of comfort and hominess. To bring her style to life, Napier focused on utilizing irreplaceable, pre-owned furniture.

“The way the sun streams inside every morning takes my breath away,” the HGTV star said on Instagram. “The sofa table is an old store fixture that we used to use in the @scotsmanusa general store but I stole it and now it’s my candle storage cabinet (and every other odd and end you can imagine). The blue and white sofa is the Sylvie sectional by @rowefinefurniture and is the irreverent moment in the otherwise formal room (it, and the pile of toys and tiny grocery buggies the girls keep in there). The art on our TV is by @peggikr and @scotsman.co built the coffee table that doubles as an art desk for the girls. The oatmeal colored sofa is 25 years old, the greatest sofa my mama ever owned that was passed down to us when we got married. I had it reupholstered by our buddy Matt at @preservation_upholstery in a linen blend performance fabric that’s easy to clean and now mama wants it back.”

Napier’s focus on pre-owned furniture highlights the fact that big changes can be made inside the home without breaking the bank. Used furniture can be cheap, but also bring a new personality to each living space.

“I was so inspired by Ms. Patmore’s kitchen from Downton Abbey and tried to match that buttery worn golden cream color of the cabinets,” Napier said. “The beams @scotsman.co built to replicate the original trim throughout the house feels like it’s always been there and I can’t imagine the kitchen without them now. Our @bluestarcooking fridge, range and hood were are all built in the USA and I chose brown black for the enamel in a nod to antique kitchen appliances and to work with my honed black mist granite countertops (I can’t believe it’s not soapstone).”
