While scientists have not quite cracked the code on time travel yet, living at Castle Von Frandsen may be the next best thing. Crafted by Roger DeClement of CastleMagic, according to Real Estate Maximums, the 8,000 square foot stronghold is just off the bank of Lake Pend Oreille in northern Idaho.
Now listed at an asking price of $7 million, Sagle’s Castle Von Frandsen is for sale. The 8.6 acre estate is a lakeside property that may or may not come with a crossbow, based on Zillow Gone Wild’s photos of the home.
According to Real Estate Maximums, a “couple of minor films” were shot on the site. The History Channel has also completed a program on the building of the castle.
“The ceilings are beamed with timbers from the Frandsen Forrest and stone fireplaces are on multiple levels,” the real estate company said in their 2018 report. “More than a million pounds of imported stone have gone into the construction. The interior is dried in and ready for personal touches and designs.”
Located between the Cabinet and Bitterroot Mountains, the forest covered castle is like a glimpse of a fairytale. While the exterior is stunning in its own right, an equal amount of labor and passion has gone into ensuring the interior of the abode captures the medieval fantasy.
Stone walls, wooden scaffolding and decorations of knight’s armor and crossbows make the home feel perfect for your next Dungeons and Dragons session or a quiet place to be inspired for your European history dissertation.
