A multi-million dollar estate is now up for grabs in the Tennessee town of Sevierville — the birthplace of music icon Dolly Parton. For Dolly Parton super-fans and outdoorsy southerners alike, it’s a dream home.
Parton’s parents purchased the home in 1984, according to realtor.com. The 1,548 square foot home was built in 1917 and purchased by Parton after her parents passed away in 2003. Now serving as an event venue called Red Top, the three-bedroom, two-and-a-half bathroom home has been put on the market with a $3.5 million asking price.
“We invite you to be a beautiful part of history and enjoy the precious memories of Avie Lee and Robert ‘Lee’s’ most recent homeplace Red Top (purchased in 1984),” Red Top’s website said. “This past Parton farm has a touch of God’s grace with rolling hills showcasing our beautiful Smoky Mountains.”
The home comes with a massive 62 acres, making it perfect for outdoorsy types. Parton’s “presence” is reportedly still prominent in the home’s interior design.
“Have a chance to own a lovely piece of Sevier County’s history,” the estate’s online listing said. “This beautiful farm land, homeplace, rolling hills was once owned by Lee & Avie Lee Parton (parents of Dolly) and Dolly herself. This farm-home dates back to the early 1900′s and has unique security features to protect its grounds and home. ‘Red Top’ has beautiful views and is very close to Douglas Lake. This 62 acre Farm does have city water, utilities and barns with a restroom facility.”
The estate features several structures besides the main home, including a barn equipped with a bathroom.
Dolly Parton remains an influential country music icon, having been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and having won multiple Grammy Awards.
