A unique new place where food and activities collide is coming to Tyrone.

What Now Atlanta reported Mindbender VR Bar and Restaurant is set to open later this year.

The bar and restaurant will be at 1496 GA 74 North in the South Hampton Village shopping center. It will specialize in New York-style pizza and virtual reality, or VR, games.

Tisa Kilpatrick co-owns the spot with her husband, Victor Kilpatrick. The spouses also own Up Top Slice N Ice, a pizza and Italian ice spot in Covington.

“My husband’s love for New York pizza and my love for technology is really what brought the concept about,” Tisa Kilpatrick said. “Along with pizza and a bar, we’ll offer lots of virtual reality games, from cooking games to zombie games and everything in between.”

Six or seven pods will be available at Mindbender. Groups or individuals can order food, drinks and select VR games to play.

The couple said their hope is for the spot to open by September.

Victor Kilpatrick has been sharing behind-the-scenes videos of the restaurant and bar’s creation on Facebook.

The couple had a taste test at Sysco last month to decide what to include on their menu, which will also have vegan options. Fried cauliflower and fried zucchini were among the tasting options. It’s unclear when the menu will be finalized, but Mindbender will feature Up Top Slice N Ice items.

Victor Kilpatrick also posted footage of the new spot, including a patio.
