Just days after announcing that her hit daytime talk show will move from Los Angeles to New York, Kelly Clarkson is responding to claims from 11 current and former employees that “The Kelly Clarkson Show” is a “toxic” work environment.

According to reporting from Rolling Stone, several current and former employees of the daytime talkshow claim that while Clarkson herself is “fantastic,” working conditions on the show have left employees feeling “overworked, underpaid, and that working at the show was traumatizing to their mental health.”

Clarkson responded to the reporting in an Instagram post: “In my 20 years in the entertainment industry, I’ve always led with my heart and what I believed to be right. I love my team at ‘The Kelly Clarkson Show,’ and to find out that anyone is feeling unheard and or disrespected on the show is unacceptable.’”

In the three-page post, Clarkson says she “will continue to be committed to creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment” and will “include leadership training for all of the senior staff, including myself.”

The article revealed that former and current staffers believe the “Miss Independent” singer doesn’t “know what’s happening.” While they praise the host for being a good person, they say her executive producer is a “monster.”

“NBC is protecting the show because it’s their new money maker, but Kelly has no clue how unhappy her staff is,” one former employee said.

“The Kelly Clarkson Show” is currently in its fourth season. The show averages about 1.3 million viewers per episode and has won five Daytime Emmy Awards.
