Recovering from a still-undisclosed medical complication that left the Hollywood actor hospitalized in Atlanta, Jamie Foxx took to social media on Thursday with a public statement. Thanking his brand partner Bet MGM, who named him the company’s “King of Sportsbooks,” the Academy Award-winning actor announced that “We got BIG things coming soon” on Instagram.

In April, Foxx was in Atlanta for the shooting of the Netflix film “Back in Action” — featuring Cameron Diaz’s return to acting — when, according to his daughter Corinne Foxx, the actor suffered a “medical complication” that landed him in a local hospital.

“Luckily due to quick action and great care he is already on his way to recovery,” she posted to Instagram April 13. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Following his hospitalization in Atlanta, Foxx moved into a rehab facility in Chicago that specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation. Taking to Instagram again on May 12, Foxx’s daughter issued a statement on her father’s health and a comment on what she said was an incorrect headline about the actor.

“Jamie Foxx’s Loved Ones Reportedly Preparing For the Worst,” she wrote, “update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support.”

TMZ was the first media outlet to report video footage of Foxx after his hospitalization. The footage shows the actor on a boat on the Chicago River on Sunday, July 9.
