Fresh off a win at the World Series, Atlanta Braves fans are celebrating shortstop Dansby Swanson for another reason: an engagement.

Swanson announced late last night that he’s engaged to United States women’s national soccer team star Mallory Pugh.

The athletes announced the news on their respective Instagram accounts Thursday, Dec. 2.

“Mr. and Mrs. Swanson coming soon,” Swanson wrote in a photo of the moment he got down on bended knee.

Pugh, who shared the same photo, captioned her post, “Forever with you.”

Comments celebrating the news flooded the couple’s respective Instagram accounts.

“IM SO HAPPY I CANT HANDLE IT” one Instagram user said.

“LETS GO!! So stoked for you man!” another commented.

Another Instagram user said, “YAYYYYYY!!! I love this so much!!!”

“GOD is so good! Forever for you both!” one of Pugh’s fans said.

“Congrats Mal!” another fan said.

The news follows the Braves winning the World Series for the first time in 26 years. The team beat the Houston Astros 7-0, with Swanson hitting a two-run home run.

Pugh is an accomplished athlete in her own right. ESPN reported the soccer forward has been with the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women’s Soccer League since 2016. She scored a goal against Thailand in the 2019 World Cup.

Sports Illustrated reported the couple has been dating since 2017. They were introduced by Swanson’s former Braves teammate Jace Peterson. He’s married to Pugh’s sister, Brianna.
