Wendy Williams, host of the now-cancelled “Wendy Williams Show,” has “entered a wellness facility seeking help to manage her overall health issues,” a representative told TODAY.
“Her healing is going slower than everyone had hoped. She continues to deal with a number of medical issues, including Graves’ disease, and she and her team are taking it one day at a time,” a source told PEOPLE.
Since the cancellation of “The Wendy Williams Show” earlier this year, Williams has been in a legal battle against producers and her ex-husband. It’s been rumored that Williams was back to doing heavy drugs and possibly drinking, according to sources who worked on the show.
Williams was previously checked into a rehab facility in early 2022, shortly after reports emerged that “The Wendy Williams Show” would end after its 13th season. While a series of guest hosts filled in for her, Williams claimed she was being held against her will and had no access to her money.
Soon after, reports of her behavior behind the scenes spread, kicking off an investigation into her workplace behavior.
Sources close to Williams have revealed that the queen of hot topics has drinking heavily and that she’s trying to regain control over her addictions.
“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with ‘The Wendy Experience Podcast.’ Ms. Williams is being treated by a team of some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time,” Williams’ publicist said in a statement.
