Common, the first rapper to win a Grammy, Emmy and Oscar, took to social media recently to tease his upcoming book, “And Then We Rise.”

“During those challenging times, I often shared my journey on Instagram, from working out with my trainer, Yancy, to cooking healthy meals with my personal chef, Lauren Von Der Pool. It caught the attention of friends and inspired them to ask for advice on staying healthy,” Common said on X (formerly Twitter).

During an interview with PEOPLE, the “Come Close” rapper said his diet consists of fish and no dairy, combined with a 45-minute workout four to five days a week. Along with taking care of his physical health, he also credited therapy as part of his wellness journey.

“Throughout these recent years I have definitely used therapy as part of my healing and mindfulness and taking care of my mental, emotional and spiritual health,” he explained. “Taking some time for myself. That has been very important.”

“I’ve learned that small changes can lead to significant improvements in overall health, helping me stay on course. Today, I cherish my health and well-being more than ever. I hope that when you read my book, you’ll realize that health and wellness are within your reach. It’s all about making choices that align with your lifestyle. Take those steps, and you’ll undoubtedly become a better, healthier version of yourself.”

The new book will be Common’s third, following his 2011 memoir ”One Day It’ll All Make Sense,” and 2019′s “Let Love Have The Last Word.”
