CNN has announced a new weekly prime-time show starring Charles Barkley and Gayle King.

“This show will be an exciting new way we deliver culturally relevant programming and unique perspectives to our audience from two incredibly dynamic personalities,” network CEO Chris Licht said in a press release.

King and Barkley made the official announcement on TNT’s “NBA Tip-Off.” The new show, “King Charles,” will be a one-hour-long live discussion, and won’t shy away from any topics. It’s expected to premier in 2024.

“I want people to tune in to see ‘what are Gayle and Charles going to do?” said King. “I think it will be fun to watch the dynamic between the two of us.”

King currently hosts CBS Mornings. At an Adweek event, she was asked whether the new show meant she was leaving CBS.

“I’m very close to CNN head Chris Licht. I like him very much, but on that question, ‘Me no speak English,’” said King. Let’s just say I have two years left on my contract with CBS, and I have no intention of leaving CBS.”

Barkley, meanwhile, hosts the TNT show “Inside The NBA.” Just last year, he extended his deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to continue hosting the show.

Variety notes that the new CNN show is another sign that networks are loosening the reigns on talent exclusivity, allowing King and Barkley to work for different networks simultaneously.
