One of “Euphoria’s” stars will not be returning for season three of the hit series.

Barbie Ferreira, best known as Kat on the show, said her farewells via Instagram, in a moment that was more bitter than sweet for “Euphoria” fans.

“After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character kat, I’m having to say a very teary eyed goodbye,” Ferreira, 25, said in an Instagram story.

Kat started season one a little shy, questioning herself and her sexuality. Viewers went on a journey that followed her as she learned to love herself and take control of her life by starting an online sex work business.

Speculation about Ferreira’s role started in season two when viewers noticed that Kat wasn’t in many scenes, causing some to question if Ferreira and the director had issues. Ferreira quickly shut down the rumors, assuring “Euphoria” lovers that wasn’t the case.

“There’s a huge cast,” Ferreira told Entertainment Tonight “So, we’ll see everyone. Everyone gets their time.”

“I hope many of you could see yourself in her like i did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez,” said Ferreira

“Euphoria” broke records with its second season and has been renewed for a third season which will arrive sometime in 2024.
