When it comes to finding fun activities for adults 55 and over, Google recommends checking out a museum or aquarium. While those options can be fun, there are plenty of other activities for seniors. Don’t limit yourself to the obvious.

Check out these fun events that are great for all ages, especially seniors.

Painting with a Twist

Paint and sip at Painting with a Twist. There are studios across the state and even take-home kits if you don’t want to go into a class. The best part about the paint and sips is that you can see what the upcoming projects are online. Get involved so you can enjoy fun, active events while making new friends.

Cooking classes

Cozymeal is a foodie staple and a popular spot for fun cooking events for date night, friends night out, family nights and more. They offer a variety of options when it comes to what you’ll be cooking. Take a food trip around the world and try Mediterranean, Mexican or Caribbean. The options are endless and you can join a class online or in studio.

Dance classes

Waltz, foxtrot, tango and quickstep are just a few of the dances you could add to your repertoire. Dancing is a highly recommended activity for seniors. Celebrity Ballroom Dance Studios is perfect for having fun while learning the latest steps. And who knows, you might enter one of their competitions and win.

$5 movie Tuesday

One fo the best parts of being retired is being able to do things during the week without worrying about getting up early the next day. If you’re a movie buff, consider $5 movies on Tuesdays. Many cinemas across the metro have great deals during the week. And some, like Studio Movie Grill, with locations in Duluth, Marietta and Alpharetta offers reclining leather seats, a full bar and cooked-to-order dinner.
