Every February, actress Kerry Washington celebrates Black History Month in her own unique way.

Washington, who is gearing up for the release of her series, “Unprisoned,” on Hulu next month, and who recently announced an upcoming memoir, still found the time to celebrate Black History Month — with a twist.

This year, Washington took on #BlackHERstory Month, celebrating Black women trailblazers from sports, fashion, film and more. Here are seven times Washington not only nailed the look, but also the message:
