The Atlanta Hawks and State Farm Arena have launched a guest chef program and have added new menu items to its regular rotation.
The program will feature nearly 20 local restaurant owners, who will prepare select menu items for those seated in Delta SKY360° Club as well as on the concourse at the Zac Brown Social Club behind section 114. The guest chefs will be curated by State Farm Arena chief culinary officer chef G. Garvin and supported onsite by Levy Restaurants’ culinary team. Garvin joined the team at State Farm Arena in late 2023.
To date, Dat Fire Jerk Chicken, Kitchencray ATL, Breakfast at Barney’s, Pit Boss BBQ, Cubanos and Belen De La Cruz Empanadas have all participated in the guest chef program with additional collaborations with local restaurants in the works.
In addition, new menu offerings include:
Hot chicken tenders (section 114); Buffalo cauliflower bites (Hawk Walk Chicken near section 120); cheesesteak melt sandwich (Westside Grill near section 107); lemon pepper loaded footlong, a footlong hot dog tossed in lemon pepper seasoning (Topped cart near Gate 6); Mediterranean vegan falafel sandwich (sections 107, 114 and 227); smashburger (sections 107, 114, 118, 211, 221 and 227); and chocolate, vanilla and peach milkshakes (section 108).

The newest location of local Mexican restaurant brand Rreal Tacos is set to open next month.
Rreal tacos will debut Feb. 10 at 312 Church St. in downtown Decatur. It marks the brand’s eighth metro Atlanta location.
The Decatur eatery will offer the same menu as the other locations, including tacos filled with beef barbacoa, pork carnitas, shrimp, and veggies, as well as quesabirria, nachos and guacamole. The restaurant also features margaritas, a curated selection of tequilas and mezcals and agua frescas.
Rreal Tacos co-owners Damian Otero and Miguel Hernandez use a second-generation space acquisition strategy when looking for new places to open. The pair also has locations in Chamblee, Sandy Springs, Cumming, Sugar Hill, Midtown, west Midtown and Buckhead, with plans to open locations in Lawrenceville and on the Eastside Beltline in 2025.
In addition, Steve Josovitz of real estate firm Schumacher Group, announced that Rreal Tacos will take over the Nacho Daddy space at 3095 Main St. in downtown Duluth.

Humble Pie, the west Midtown pizza restaurant from chefs Ron Hsu and Aaron Phillips of Lazy Betty, has closed at the Interlock after just two years. The closure was announced on Instagram.

Tin Roof Cantina on Briarcliff Road announced on Instagram that its building has been sold and it will close in the near future after more than 20 years.

After briefly closing in January for HVAC system upgrades, Gypsy Kitchen and The Southern Gentleman will reopen on Monday, Feb. 3 in the Buckhead Village development. Gypsy Kitchen’s reopening also “unveils a fresher, lighter look with notable design improvements that create a more inviting and contemporary atmosphere for patrons to enjoy,” according to a news release.
Both restaurants is offering reopening specials. From Feb. 3-11, Gypsy Kitchen will offer one complimentary hummus and flatbread per table. On Friday, Feb. 7, the eatery is throwing a party with passed hors d’oeuvres in the bar area, half-priced bottles of wine and live music.
From Feb. 3-11, the Southern Gentleman will offer a $40 prix-fixe menu with guest favorites and new spring dishes including deviled eggs, Creole-spiced redfish and shrimp and grits.

Chef Karl Gorline plans to open Bar Avize next to his west Midtown restaurant Avize at 956 Brady Ave. NW this month, Atlanta Magazine reports. The menu will include dishes like king crab fondue, an Alpine hot dog on a pretzel bun, broccoli Caesar salad, truffle fries, and duck leg carbonara with spaetzle, as well as a Champagne-focused beverage program.

Chef Nick Melvin of Kirkwood burrito spot Poco Loco, is set to open Tex-Mex restaurant Comunidad in part of the former Highland Bakery space at 655 Highland Ave. NE in Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta Business Chronicle reports. Thai 26 owner Niki Pattharakositkul plans to open Asian-fusion street food restaurant and bar Blackjack at 1080 Peachtree St. in Midtown, Atlanta Magazine reports. The small plate and cocktail-focused spot will offer dishes including Thai shrimp salad, Tom Yum squid-ink soup and Enoki mushroom tempura.

Yemeni coffee chain Haraz Coffee House is set to open at 930 Spring St. NW in Midtown, What Now Atlanta reports. The Atlanta location will join 17 others across the U.S. and Middle East.
